PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

 

·         Must be 21 years of age

 

·         Have a High School Diploma/GED

 

·         Valid Arizona Driver License/Current Auto Insurance

 

·         Must obtain a Motor Vehicle Report from the Motor Vehicle Division – (39 months)

 

·         TB test (Required for La Casa de Paz Programs/Domestic Violence shelter)

                     .

 (You can have this completed at the Pinal County Health Department located at the Pinal County Complex Building/Hudson Complex, 820 E. Cottonwood Lane, Casa Grande or 900 N. Idaho Road, Apache Junction)

 

·         Hepatitis shots (Optional for Domestic Violence Shelter and Children’s Shelter.)

 

·         Physical (Required for Children’s Crisis Shelter)

            (Stating you are free of communicable diseases)

             

·         Fingerprints

Applicants must pass a background check through Arizona Department of Public Safety/DPS.  PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.  Fingerprints will be provided by Against Abuse, Inc.  I understand that if I voluntarily leave AAI before completing one (1) year of employment, I will reimburse AAI for my fingerprints.

 

·         Must be able to lift 20 – 50 pounds.

    

·         Against Abuse, Inc. provides a CPR/First Aid training site at the Casa Grande Library, in the APS Room, 449 N. Drylake, Casa Grande, AZ.  AAI will provide mileage to this selected site only.  If you are scheduled for training and you do not attend, you will be responsible to find your own training site.  AAI will pay for your training(s).  If I voluntarily leave AAI before completing one (1) year of employment, I will reimburse AAI for the cost of my training(s).

Position Available:                           Part-time Domestic Violence Advocate

 

Wage:                                                $8.00/hourly

 

Shift:                                                  3 p.m. - 11 p.m. (Sunday & Monday)

                                                           7 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Tuesdays)

                                                           11 p.m. - 7 a.m. (as needed.)

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The provision of quality assessment, crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence, their dependent children and family members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.    Will be at least 21 years of age.

2.    Have High School Diploma or its equivalent.

3.    Valid Arizona Driver License, current auto insurance and access to a vehicle.

4.    Two years experience in a residential treatment program with emphasis on crisis intervention.

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.       Crisis intervention in the community,

2.       Assessment of need for service and appropriate placement,

3.       Communicate effectively in a crisis situation or face to face and or telephone,

4.       Complete appropriate forms for evaluation and record keeping,

5.       Work as part of the clinical team,

6.       General supervision of shelter day/night,

7.       Assist in group session,

8.       Clerical duties as assigned,

9.       Assist in children’s group programming,

10.   Ensure delivery of individual, family and/or group counseling as needed,

11.   Attend staff meeting and trainings as scheduled,

12.   Must be able to lift 20-50 pounds,

13.   Other duties as may be assigned.

Position Available:                     Part-time Visitation/Safe Exchange Monitor

 

Wage:                                           $18.00/hourly

 

Shift:                                             Afternoons, evenings and weekends.

                                                      Wednesday through Sunday

 

Location:                                     La Paloma Center

 

Primary Function:

 

Under the general supervision of the Program Director and Coordinator this person is responsible for supervising child/parent interactions during visits and safe exchanges according to La Paloma Policies and Procedures.  Ensures positive parenting time through proper supervision by actively supporting and encouraging parents needing guidance by offering suggestions and intervening when needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

Must have at least 4 years of experience working in related field.   Bachelor Degree preferred, but four years progressive experience related to social services or case management can be used as substitute on a year to year basis.

 

General duties, skills and responsibilities:

 

1.       Supervise child/parent interactions during visits or safe exchanges,

2.       Knowledge of effective and positive parenting,

3.       Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emotionally charged and emergency situations,

4.       Cooperate with security and other staff to intervene effectively with appropriate authority and skill            

to enforce the Program rules,

5.       Report problems or issues to Program Director or Coordinator,

6.       Attend regular staff meetings, trainings and team discussions,

7.       Maintain confidentiality of all children and program participants obtained in the course of  services rendered,

8.       Assure that paperwork is up-to-date/accurate and completed in a timely manner,

9.       Successful completion of a minimum of 40 hours of training specific to the supervised visitation program,                       

10.   Current CPR and First Aid certification,

11.   Current State of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance,

12.   Current Arizona driver’s license and auto insurance,

13.   Contribute to program success through taking an active role in maintaining site,

14.   Performs other duties as assigned.
